Petersburg House Fire Damages Two Structures

A house fire in Petersburg created a challenge for fire fighters from five area fire departments today. According to KMAC 28 the Petersburg Fire Department had to call in for reinforcements after receiving a report of a house fire at 2:30 today.

Units from Abernathy, Idalou, West Carlisle and New Deal responded to the fire in the 1900 block of Avenue F. It destroyed one home and left another badly damaged. The cause of the fire is still unknown. High winds and hot temperatures made the fire especially exhausting and difficult to fight.
