Pedestrian Struck on Avenue Q in Lubbock Passes Away

The pedestrian struck on Avenue Q on Monday, later identified as 44-year-old Jimmy Hewlett Jr., passed away at the hospital Thursday afternoon, according to an update from LPD's Tiffany Pelt.

Hewlett was a pedestrian in the 2600 block of Avenue Q Monday night. He attempted to cross the street not using a crosswalk, and was struck by a 67-year-old woman.

The woman stayed on scene during the initial investigation.
