Former Red Raider, current Kansas City Chief and perpetual Texas Tech supporter Patrick Mahomes offered a short, but sweet message to his alma mater's team before they take the field in Austin for their last shot at 2017 bowl game eligibility.

Mahomes, who led Texas Tech to a win against Texas in Austin for the first time since 1997, had the following message for the team:

Short and to-the-point.

This isn't the first time Mahomes has backed his former teammates. At least twice in the 2017 season (once in Lubbock for the Iowa State game, and once at the Baylor game in Arlington), Mahomes was spotted on the sidelines lending his support.

During an especially trying season with more downs than ups, this type of gesture stands out even more. Thank you, Patrick, for being a Red Raider for life.
