On Saturday, Dec. 29, a patient at the University Medical Center was injured by a fire that started on the third flood, according to KAMC News.

Lubbock Fire Rescue is reported to have arrived at the hospital just after 8:46 p.m. A fire in room 390 on the third floor is said to have burned one patient, but UMC has not detailed the extent of their injuries.

Other patients on the same floor were evacuated as a precaution, although the fire is said to have already burned out by the time firefighters arrived to the room.

What caused the fire is still unknown at this time.
