A Houston shooting range is responding to the Orlando terrorist attack at a gay nightclub in the most Texan way.

KPRC-TV in Houston reports the Shiloh Gun Range is offering free classes to the LGBT community for concealed carry or license to carry classes.

Owner Jeff Sanford told KPRC:

"We want to make them aware they can come here, they can feel safe here, they can get their concealed handgun license or their license to carry and they can carry a gun and they can feel good about it."

The Orlando terrorist attack on June 12, 2016 claimed the lives of 49 patrons and wounded another 53 at the Pulse Nightclub. The shooter, Omar Saddiqi Mateen, carried out the attack and pledged his allegiance to ISIS in a phone call to an Orlando television station.

There are LGBT organizations around the country which specialize in teaching concealed carry and gun safety, most notably the Pink Pistols. The Pink Pistols have 45 chapters nationwide including three in Texas for the Dallas, Houston and San Antonio areas.
