Update: According to KAMC News, one person died in what X-FAB Texas called a "flash explosion" at its Lubbock manufacturing plant. Another person was taken to University Medical Center with what was described by the company as "non-life-threatening injuries."

The identify of the person killed in the explosion has yet to be released.

Original story: One person is injured after a chemical leak at a manufacturing plant on Friday, November 12th in North Lubbock.

Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to the hydrogen peroxide leak at around 9 a.m. at X-FAB, located at 2301 North University. Crews have evacuated the building due to the leak, which can cause breathing issues.

A hazmat crew is also on-scene assisting in cleanup. As of this time, the cause of the leak is unknown.
