Former nationally syndicated talk show host, and Republican presidential candidate, Herman Cain (pictured, above) passed away Thursday due to complications from the novel coronavirus.

From the mid-2000s through October 2012, Herman Cain was an occasional voice on KFYO due to his fill-ins on the national portion of the Neal Boortz Show, which aired weekday mornings on KFYO. Cain also filled in some for Sean Hannity before taking over Boortz's national show in January 2013 when he retired from radio.

Boortz and Cain were long-time friends as they were both based at WSB in Atlanta for a number of years.

A number of us here at KFYO enjoyed listening to Cain's fill-in shows for Boortz over the years, and it is a sad day in the history of talk radio with Herman's passing.
