Here are just a few things in Chad’s Pile that you will hear on Lubbock’s First News this morning. Give Chad your feedback on the steaming topics.

1. NBC dumps 'under God' (link) and (link)

NBC is under fire for editing out 'under God' in the Pledge of Allegiance in two different videos during the U.S. Open. NBC later apologized and said that they didn't mean to offend anyone. Is it that hard to leave the Pledge of Allegiance the way it's supposed to be?

2. Governor Rick Perry wows in New Orleans (link)

Governor Rick Perry was in New Orleans over the weekend and rallied Republicans in what was basically a campaign speech. According to MSNBC, Perry said:

“We need to stop apologizing for celebrating life,” the Republican Texas governor bellowed at the Republican Leadership Conference in a finger-pointing, finger-wagging and, at times, bombastic, speech.

“Stop apologizing” for wanting to stem the tide of the “entitlement mindset,” he boasted.

“Our opponents on the left are never going to like us, so let’s stop trying to curry favor with them,” he said, before imploring the crowd to “stand up. Let’s speak with pride about our values. Let’s stop this American downward spiral.”

So when do you think Perry officially announces his candidacy?

3. John McCain slams GOP hopefuls (link)

John McCain slammed Republicans for being isolationists and sided with President Obama on the war in Libya. Republicans are complaining a lot about Libya, but they do have a point. Besides, should John McCain really be the one going after Republicans?
