Wednesday on Lubbock's First News, Emily Wilkinson, of the National Ranching Heritage Center, described the upcoming Candlelight at the Ranch event.

The event will be hosted December 13-14, from 6-9 pm each night. This will be the 35th annual Candlelight at the Ranch event. Every year, the paths to historic buildings on the ranch are lit up and volunteers act out holiday activities representative of those that would have taken place 100 years ago. Hot cider and hot chocolate will be for sale for guests as they tour the area.

Wilkinson said, "We have luminaria on the path and visitors can come in and look in all the structures. We have our volunteers dressed in period clothing and they're reenacting things that families would have done around the holidays." She noted that each building will have something different to see, including a teacher that brings her class to participate each year in the school house.

While there is no admission, donations are encouraged. For more information, visit the NRHC website, or contact Emily Wilkinson at (806) 742-0498 or emily.wilkinson@ttu.edu.
