Halloween is just around the corner and for those who like to get out and walk or run, there is a great event happening on Saturday that everyone, including the family dog, can participate in.

On Saturday, October 21, West Texas Endurance will host its 11th Annual HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Run and Haunted Hustle. There will also be a dog costume contest to kick off the event.

The Haunted Hustle will offer 2 different courses according to a press release. One is more of a "family friendly" and shorter 1.2 mile course that will take participants along Canyon Lake #6. And of course, you can walk/run the course with your dog if you'd like.

A more challenging 4-mile course will have the participants running through the City of Lubbock Cemetery and paying tribute to Lubbock’s most famous sons, Buddy Holly and Mac Davis. Those interested in running without their dogs are welcome to participate

This event is also a fundraiser for Morris Safe House. Dog Supplies will be collected and donated to Morris Safe House.

The 11th Annual HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Run and Haunted Hustle 4 Miles is Saturday, October 21 at Canyon Lake 6 beginning at 8:30am with the dog costume contest. The race begins at 9:00am.

To participate register at West Texas Endurance online or visit Cardinal's Sport Center on Friday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. You can also register on race day on site from 7:30am to 8:15am.
