Monday on The Chad Hasty Show, Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope joined Chad in the KFYO studio to talk about major issues ahead of tomorrow's election.

Pope and Hasty discussed Lubbock's increase in positive test results for coronavirus and possible measures the city can take to curb that increase, as well as property taxes, Planned Parenthood and the proposed city ordinance to make Lubbock a sanctuary city for the unborn, and much more.

While speaking about the coronavirus situation in Lubbock, and measures that need to be taken to contain the increase in positive tests, Pope said,

I believe Chad, that we've go to safely go about our lives...I do think that face coverings matter. I know that a lot of our citizens feel like their liberties are being taken when they have to wear a face covering, and I certainly respect their opinions. I just know that it matters. The spread in our community is of concern, but if we will wear a mask, if we'll keep our distance, we'll wash our hand, and just, I think make good decisions...We'll continue though, to safely re-engage our economy. It's too important for families, for moms and dads to work. They've got to work, we can't close things down.
