As always on Mondays, Matt Mackowiak joined The Chad Hasty Show, this week talking about the end of the 84th Texas Legislature, which, with all business completed, officially ends tonight at midnight.

Mackowiak and Hasty discussed goals that were met by the legislature, and which important issues were effectively handled.

When asked about how Governor Greg Abbott's agenda for this legislature fared, Mackowiak responded,

If you look at what, you know, Abbott and Patrick both campaigned on when they ran for Governor and Lieutenant Governor, and you look at what was actually accomplished in this legislative session, I mean, you have to step away from this and step back and say they both were winners. Abbott, you know, ran on a lot of the things that he ended up getting done in this legislative session, and if you talk about Patrick, the two issues he ran on were property tax cuts and border security, and he got both of those done.

Mackowiak also talked about the rapidly expanding field of Republican candidates for the 2016 presidential election, and which candidates he considers to be top-tier candidates.
