Mary Gerlach Talks ‘Easy as Pie’ Fundraiser, Ron Roberts’ Pie-Eating Gamesmanship [INTERVIEW]

Mary Gerlach, assistant director of Lubbock Meals on Wheels, joined The Chad Hasty Show to talk about their annual fundraiser Easy as Pie.

The event kicks off with a pie eating contest November 13th, 2015 and is the organization's second largest fundraiser every year.

When asked by Hasty about previous cheating by an individual during the contest, Gerlach replied (speaking about a local weather personality),

"Oh yeah, Ron Roberts, every year. Every year," she said. "Last year he put some of his pie on someone else's plate. He did it! He also got pie in his face when it was over."

Easy as Pie as begins on Friday, November 13, with the pie eating contest at the United Supermarket at 82nd Street & Boston Ave.

Patrons donating $5 or more toward Lubbock Meals on Wheel will receive a coupon for a free Sara Lee pie, and unclaimed pies will help supply pies for Meals on Wheels recipients for the holidays.
