Man Shoots Down Estranged Wife on a Dallas Street, Then Kills Himself

Police say a woman was fatally shot on a Dallas street while fleeing from her estranged husband, who then allegedly carjacked a vehicle, drove home, barricaded himself in the residence and killed himself. Police say one gunshot was heard from inside the home Friday morning as officers approached. Lt. David Pughes says the couple had been in a vehicle when they argued and she tried to get away by running down the street. Pughes says the shooting happened near a bus stop and some passengers witnessed the attack. The couple's vehicle was left in gear and rolled down the street, so the gunman carjacked another vehicle so he could flee.
