Major General W. Montague Winfield to Speak As Part of Texas Tech Vietnam Center and Archive Lecture Series
Texas Tech’s Vietnam Center and Archive will host a retired major general for Prisoner of War/Missing Personnel Affairs this week.
Retired Maj. Gen. W. Montague Winfield is the deputy assistant Secretary of Defense for Prisoner of War/Missing Personnel Affairs will speak at Texas Tech this Thursday.
Maj. Gen. Winfield is responsible for leading the Department of Defense’s worldwide commitment to the fullest possible accounting of Americans missing in action from all conflicts.
Winfield served in the U.S. Army for 31 years, and has received numerous military decorations, including the Distinguished Service Medal, two Defense Superior Service medals, and three Legions of Merit.
Maj. Gen. Winfield will speak at the Lanier Auditorium at the Texas Tech School of Law, located at 18th Street and Indiana Avenue at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 21st.
Admission is free and open to the public.
