Tuesday on The Chad Hasty ShowRepublican strategist Matt Mackowiak joined the program to share his take on the first evening of the Democratic Party's three day virtual convention.

Mackowiak covered the featured speakers for the evening, as well as the latest changes in the polls.

Mackowiak said, while speaking about his expectation of low impact that the virtual conventions will have on the campaigns, as compared with campaigns in past elections,

I think they're going to matter very very little, unless there's some type of major development. I think that probably neither side will get a significant polling bump...Usually there's a couple of, sort of stars that are created. You can remember Barack Obama in 2004 when he was the keynote speaker. Even Sarah Palin in Minneapolis in 2008, her speech was absolutely dynamite...I don't think those kinds of stars are going to be created in the 2020 conventions. I just don't think the audience will be large enough, I don't think the dynamics are compelling enough. Not having an audience when you're speaking in these kinds of settings, really makes the whole thing look pretty stale.
