Monday on The Chad Hasty Show, Washington Times columnist and political analyst Matt Mackowiak joined the show to talk about the latest in news from the Texas legislature and Washington D.C.

Mackowiak and Hasty discussed the always contentious "sanctuary cities" and various positions on that front, the status of "bathroom" bills in Texas, and Republican Party opposition to Donald Trump.

Discussing the status of "bathroom" bills in Texas, Mackowiak said,

I think the Senate probably will pass SB 6 [the Texas Privacy Act]. It's not clear to me that the bill will get a vote in the House. I think the end-game could be to just do schools only. I think that's where the Lieutenant Governor is actually on fairly high ground. I don't think anyone believes boys and girls showering together in schools is a good idea.
