Tuesday on The Chad Hasty Show political strategist Matt Mackowiak joined the program to talk about the latest in news and politics in Texas and on the national scene.

Mackowiak and Hasty discussed Senator John Cornyn's campaign challengers, as well as Beto O'Rourke's campaign and it's travails.

Explaining why O'Rourke's position in vying for the democratic nomination for the White House differs from when he was running against Senator Ted Cruz in Texas, Mackowiak said,

He's [now] a threat. He wasn't a threat to any Democrats when he was running against Ted Cruz, and so that's why he wasn't vetted, nobody looked into his background, nobody made him answer questions, it was all about personality. It's not about that now. He's a threat to Bernie, he's a threat to Kamala Harris, he's a threat to all these first-tier democratic candidates, and he's going to be a threat to Joe Biden as well...He's in a totally different situation now.
