Tuesday on The Chad Hasty Show political strategist Matt Mackowiak joined the show to discuss all the latest in the national and state news, including Senator John Cornyn's coming battle for reelection.

Also in the discussion were previews of President Trump and Texas Governor Greg Abbott's major speeches today, as well as the ever-changing and increasing field of possible and announced Democrat candidates for the 2020 election.

While speaking about Beto O'Rourke's slipping position in the Democrat field, Mackowiak said,

I think his position has weakened considerably in the last two months. Really almost every news story that we've seen about Beto since the election has been negative...Beto was kind of the hot thing in politics two months ago, he's not anymore.
