Tuesday on The Chad Hasty Show political strategist Matt Mackowiak joined the broadcast to talk about the latest hot topics in news and politics, in Texas, as well as on the national front.

Mackowiak and Hasty discussed the announcement by M.J. Hegar entering the U.S. Senate race in Texas opposing incumbent Senator John Cornyn, and the declining momentum of Beto O'Rourke, who seemingly has lost favor among Democrats and the media, to Pete Buttigieg (D), in the contest for the Democratic Party's nomination to run against President Donald Trump in the 2020 general election.

While speaking about Buttigieg's growing popularity among Democrats, and the media attention being directed his way, Mackowiak said,

He clearly is over-performing in this primary, and he is clearly taking the wind out of the sails of Beto O'Rourke. He's the one going viral. He's the Beto of this field, basically right now, and that's preventing Beto from getting much attention.
