On Tuesday's edition of The Chad Hasty Show Republican strategist Matt Mackowiak joined the broadcast to discuss the latest in national and state politics.

Mackowiak and Hasty talked about the continuing parade of hearings by the Democratic Party into various aspects of Donald Trump's campaign and presidency, as well as the 86th Texas Legislature and what a disappointment it has become for conservatives, with a very short time left in the session.

While talking about the nearly complete lack of progress on conservative issues in Austin, Mackowiak said,

For conservatives, I think they're going to look at this session and wonder what happened...[for example] The ban on cities and counties using taxpayer dollars for lobbying failed because twenty five Republicans voted against it. There's just a lot of conservative frustration, and it's not just me, it's grassroots folks around the state that are kind of wondering what's going on here. Why are conservative members not supporting a conservative reform agenda when they get to Austin?
