Lubbock police responded to a shooting at a local fast food restaurant on Saturday, April 11th, 2020.

According to a police report, shots were fired just after 6 p.m. at the Wendy's in the Target parking lot, located at 2505 South Loop 289.

Police say a customer, identified as 24-year-old Rene Quintanilla Jr., got into an argument with a Wendy’s employee while in the drive-thru.

The argument apparently made its way to the Wendy’s parking lot, where Quintanilla Jr. pulled out a gun and shot the employee, identified as 21-year-old Robert Rodriguez.

Rodriguez was taken by EMS to University Medical Center, but did not survive his injuries. Quintanilla Jr. was arrested at the scene and charged with murder.

Quintanilla Jr. is currently being held at the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
