Local political parties will host events this week for the first Presidential debate for 2012.

The topic of the first debate between President Barack Obama and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is domestic policy, and is being held at the University of Denver. It will run from 8 to 9:30 p.m., and will be moderated by Jim Lehrer.

The Lubbock County Republican Party will hold their watch Party for the debate on Wednesday, October 3rd at Mr. Gatti’s Pizza, located at 5001 50th Street at 7 p.m.

The Lubbock County Democratic Party will host their watch party at Belly’s Café, located at 15th Street and Avenue G, also beginning at 7 p.m.

The Vice Presidential debate will be held on October 11th, and the topic will be foreign and domestic policy.

The next Presidential debate will be held on October 16th, and will be a town hall meeting format including foreign and domestic policy, and the final debate will be on October 22nd, and will focus on foreign policy.
