Lubbock Police Investigating Head-On Collision on Marsha Sharp Freeway

Just after 8 a.m. on Thursday, June 4th, officers responded to a head-on collision that happened on Marsha Sharp Freeway near West Loop 289.
Reports say a Mercury Grand Marquis, driven by 92-year-old Randolph Clifton, was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Marsha Sharp.
Clifton continued down Marsha Sharp and collided with a Nissan Sonata, driven by 26-year-old Arlena Martell.
Both Clifton and Martell were transported to University Medical Center with serious injuries. Martell's passenger, a 4-year-old child, was uninjured.
The case remains under investigation.
