The Lubbock Police Department is investigating an alleged attempted kidnapping that took place on Sunday, Feb. 2.

A 28-year-old woman named Teddi Perez has told police that someone may have been trying to kidnap her on Sunday while she was walking in the 100 block of 34th Street at around 9 p.m.

Perez claims that a man driving a blue Ford Taurus pulled up next to her and offered her a ride. After she said no, he allegedly got out of the vehicle and started to run after her.

Perez says she screamed for help and ran away until two individuals came to help her, at which point the suspect went back to his car and drove away.

Police say the suspect was driving a blue Ford Taurus with a red driver’s side door. If you have any information contact the Crime Line at 741-1000.
