A Lubbock man has been shot after an attempted vehicle burglary that happened in the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 17th.

KAMC News reports that it all happened in front of the victim's house, which is located in the 4500 block of 11th Street.

It's said that the victim's wife woke to the sound of loud music coming from a vehicle just outside their window. She got up and noticed a car parked across the street from her house and then looked over to check her own vehicle.

She says she saw a flashlight moving around inside of it, so she then woke up her husband. The husband grabbed his two guns and went outside to the porch.

It's reported that he fired a warning shot into the air and noticed two people in hoods running away from the vehicle.

A little bit after that, however, a sedan drove past the victim's house and started shooting at him, police say. The victim dropped to the ground and return fire, noticing the sedan pick up the 2 hooded suspects that ran from his vehicle. They fled eastbound.

The victim didn't notice until after it all happened that he had been shot. The police report says the victim had "a single sun shot wound to his right butt cheek."

Officers found bullet holes and shell casings at the victim's house.

No arrests have been made.
