Lubbock Loves Texas Tech Baseball
According to texastech.com, due to an overwhelming response from the Texas Tech fan base, tickets for this weekend's NCAA Lubbock Regional are officially sold out.
I just want to acknowledge how great this fan base is. For the second straight year, the Lubbock crowd has sold out the NCAA Regional. I have no doubt that if the Red Raiders move on, the Super Regional will also be sold out. I think that if Texas Tech baseball had a scrimmage tomorrow and sold tickets, this fan base would sell it out.
The support, I have no doubt, has a positive effect. The Red Raiders were 23-5 this season within the friendly confines of Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park. They were 15-6 on the road for comparison.
If you bought tickets or reserved parking, you can get all of that info at Texas Tech's website.
Good news for Texas Tech students still in Lubbock: There are 300 first-come, first-served tickets available starting 10 a.m. Thursday morning (June 1). One ticket per student. All students must be present and show a valid Texas Tech I.D. in order to claim a ticket.
Maybe there might be a Raiderville camp tonight getting in line for those?
The no. 5 Red Raiders (43-15) take on Delaware (34-21) in the regional opener on Friday, June 2, at 2 p.m., followed by No. 15 Arizona (37-19) and Sam Houston State (40-20) at 6 p.m.
