Suspect in Fatal Lubbock Hit-And-Run Arrested in Michigan

Twenty-nine-year-old Benjamin Ray Mitchell has been issued a warrant in relation to a hit-and-run accident that happened in Lubbock, Texas on September 15th, 2020.
A bit before 10:15 p.m., a motorcycle was traveling southbound in the 4600 block of Avenue Q as a Buick Lacrosse was traveling behind it. Police say the Buick, driven by Mitchell, struck the motorcycle then fled the scene.
The two motorcycle riders, 40-year-old Anthony Childers and 31-year-old Barbara Matthews of Hobbs, New Mexico were pronounced dead at the scene.
Mitchell was arrested on Tuesday, September 22nd in St. Clair County Michigan for a parole violation.
