Lubbock Democrat Samantha Fields Exits Race for House District 84

Lubbock Democrat Samantha Fields has announced she is no longer running in the Democratic Primary for Texas House District 84.

Fields announced her run against Republican incumbent John Frullo back in July of 2019, but now says she’s dropping out due to family reasons.

Fields also ran for District 84 in 2018, but lost to John Frullo. Meanwhile, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has endorsed John Frullo’s current re-election campaign.

Frullo was first elected to the Texas House in 2010 and with Fields dropping out of the race, he is currently unchallenged in the 2020 election.
