Lubbock County Judge Tom Head Responds to Statements On UN Occupation
Lubbock’s County judge has issued a statement regarding comments which he made this week on why he believes that the County Commissioners should approve a tax increase.
County Judge Tom Head told the local Fox affiliate that he felt that the possibility of civil unrest could increase greatly if President Obama is reelected. He continued, saying that he fears that United States sovereignty could be allowed to be usurped by the United Nations.
National media has picked up on the story, and now news of Head’s comments has spread rapidly.
Head’s response in its entirety is available below.
"I have been faithful to my solemn vow to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, regardless of who is in the White House. Even though I am an elected official, I am not an eloquent speaker and regret any negative publicity for our community and the Commissioner’s Court; however, the 1st Amendment allows even judges to speak freely about our rights under 2nd Amendment – I believe both the media and voting public support this right.
I will continue to faithfully serve Lubbock County and pray for our country and its leaders."
