State of Disaster Declared For Lubbock City/County
The City of Lubbock and Lubbock County have declared a state of disaster due to Wednesday evening’s storms.
Lubbock County Judge Tom Head and Lubbock Mayor Glen Robertson declared the state of disaster late Friday afternoon.
The purpose of the declaration is to qualify the City and County for emergency funding if the amount of uninsured damage exceeds $961,967.
The joint declaration takes effect immediately and will last seven days.
It is expected that the Commissioners Court and the Lubbock City Council will renew the declaration during meetings next week.
