Update: According to a City of Lubbock press release late Monday afternoon (July 6th), Gov. Abbott's order that prohibits gatherings of 10 or more people applies within city limits. This means Judge Curtis Parrish's blanket approval (seen below) of those types of gatherings is only for events that meet that criteria and are held in unincorporated areas of the county.

For citizens within Lubbock city limits who wish to have a gathering of 10 or more people, approval from Mayor Dan Pope is required. [More info]

Original story: Lubbock County Judge Curtis Parrish has issued a proclamation saying that Lubbock County citizens were free to have outdoor gatherings in excess of 10 people.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott had issued a proclamation amending Executive Order GA-28, which mandated that any outdoor gathering in excess of 10 people was prohibited unless the county judge approves of the gathering.

While Judge Parrish has permitted citizens of Lubbock County to have outdoor gatherings of 10+ people, all are still encouraged to follow all CDC guidelines and adhere to social distancing protocols.
