Lubbock, Texas (August 8, 2019)—With most families living below the poverty line, many students have to start school without the necessary supplies. If teachers are unable to provide these items, students end up relying on the few who brought supplies.

ALLIANCE Credit Union, HB Construction and Officewise are working to ease these burdens by raising donations for the purchase of 100 backpacks, filled with all of the necessary school supplies for students involved in Communities in Schools – South Plains.

“Many students already have to worry about their next meal or lack of clothing,” said Marketing Manager, Abbie Jones. “The lack of school supplies should not be an added stress. If children have what they need, they can start school in an equal-opportunity learning environment, building a foundation of success.”

ALLIANCE Credit Union, HB Construction and Officewise employees, along with representatives from Communities in Schools, will stuff the backpacks on Friday, August 9th from 2-4pm at 8401 Quaker Ave, Lubbock, TX 79424.

Backpacks will then be delivered to Communities in Schools - South Plains for proper distribution. No donations will be turned away, before or after Friday, August 9th.

ALLIANCE is accepting donations online at alliancecutx.com/backpack.
