A man in Texas was recently killed after being struck by lightning while on a golf course. A second man, his father, who was with him was also hit and required immediate medical attention.

Lightning Strike Fatality in Texas

Tragedy recently struck the Loalbo family in central Texas as their loving father and husband, Spencer Loalbo, was killed by a single bolt of lightning while enjoying time with his father on the golf course.

It was a Sunday afternoon when Spencer decided to play a few rounds of golf with his dad after attending church with his wife and their family in the morning and putting their youngest daughter down for a nap.

This was the last time that Spencer saw his wife and kids.

Just a few hours before an expected severe storm over the area, a single storm cloud moved ahead of the incoming weather. This cloud happened to be passing over Spencer and his father while they were on the golf course, sending one lightning bolt down in a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence, striking Spencer, killing him instantly.

Spencer's father was standing next to his son when the strike happened and was hit as well, although to a lesser degree. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Spencer Loalbo's Legacy

Spencer Loalbo leaves behind his wife, Kaylee, and their three young daughters, an 8-year-old, a 6-year-old, and a 3-year-old.

Spencer and Kaylee shared over half of their lives with each other, having first begun dating at College Station before starting a family together in central Texas.

Kaylee told NBC DFW that she will always tell her daughters these words whenever times get hard:

Daddy's with us, but he's just not on Earth.

Lightning strike deaths are incredibly rare, but they do happen. Call it an act of God or a simple roll of the dice, but whatever it is, some people, like the Loalbo family, lose those they love in these horrific instances.
