West Texas Man Sentenced to 60 Years for Filming, Assaulting Young Boys
A Levelland man was recently arrested after pleading guilty to seven counts of production of child pornography. He was sentenced to 720 months in federal prison as a result.
The Horrific Videos Found on His Cell Phone
According to court documents, Texas Department of Public Safety agents in early 2025 investigated 47-year-old Camilo Reyes Castillo on suspicions that he was selling child sexual abuse material online.
In June 2025, a search warrant was issued for Castillo's residence in Levelland, and Castillo himself agreed to speak with the officers. At one point, Castillo admitted that he "groped" two boys, ages 9 and 12, over their clothes. He also recorded one of them while they were in the shower.
Evidence found on Castillo's cell phone revealed about 170 photos and videos of the two boys he admitted to touching. The videos showed him sexually abusing the children. The boys were identified and both confirmed that Castillo had sexually assaulted them.
He Pleaded Guilty, Receiving Six Decades Imprisonment
Camilo Reyes Castillo pled guilty to a total of seven counts of production of child pornography in October 2025. He met before U.S. District Judge James Wesley Hendrix on March 26, 2026, where he received his prison sentence of 720 months, or 60 years.
The discovery of Castillo's criminal activity was thanks to Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) meant to combat child sexual exploitation.
