On Friday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Justice of the Peace candidate Gary Vaughn spoke with Tom Collins and Laura Mac about why people should vote for him in the upcoming election.

The JP court deals with a number of small claims and misdemeanor cases of a daily basis. Vaughn said that his opponent, Ann-Marie Carruth, intends to focus solely on following the word of law. However, Vaughn takes a slightly different approach to the bench. He explained that, while word of law is important, it would also take common sense and good judgment in order to be truly impartial and make the best decisions for all parties involved.

Vaughn added that the position is also much more than just serving on the bench. He added that taking care of the budget is also involved, which, he said, is something he has had plenty of experience with.

Election Day is Tuesday, May 27th. For more information on Gary Vaughn and his campaign for Justice of the Peace, visit his website at garyvaughjp4.com.
