On Tuesday's edition of The Chad Hasty Show, guest host and 2020 Texas Radio Hall of Fame inductee Paul R. Beane was joined in the KFYO studio by local author and conservative columnist Joe Gonzalez.

Gonzalez shared some of his life history, including growing up as the son of migrant workers, his time as an officer with the Lubbock Police Department, his political values growth and his love of writing, that lead to his work both as a conservative columnist and novelist.

While describing his values, nurtured in a family supportive of politicians such as John F. Kennedy, but changing into those of Ronald Reagan conservatives, Gonzalez said,

I think the Democrats are losing everything due to socialist ideals that are being pushed by this Green New Deal, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, AOC [Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez], Ilhan Omar. It's not the Democratic Party of the '60s and '70s.

Gonzalez's newest book, "Lighthouse in Nebraska" is available at Amazon.com, as are his others: "Unlocking the Cellar Dreams of a Poet: A Book of Poems", "Exploring Winding Roads and Dusty Trails", "Smiling at Mother Freedom, Laughing with Father Time: Chasing Kites and Rainbows in the ’50S, Catching Dreams in the Twenty-First Century", and "Trinity: Finding of the Singer, the Deacon, and the Good Samaritan".
