Tuesday on The Chad Hasty Show, Jody Barnes joined Chad in the KFYO studio to talk about his entry as candidate in the race for Lubbock County Constable Precinct 2.

Barnes and Hasty discussed what the duties and responsibilities of County Constable are, Constables being full peace officers who train with both the Lubbock Police Department and the Lubbock County Sheriff Office.

Barnes talked about some of his qualifications for the office, and why he would like to be elected. Barnes currently is owner and operator of a food vending service, and has experience as a police officer in different cities on the South Plains. Barnes is a graduate of Monterey High School and earned his Peace Officer’s License from South Plains College.

Speaking of reasons Barnes has decided to run for the office, Barnes said,

In this day and age, where we've things going on with the terrorism and different things going on around the world, it's important that all agencies be able to work together, and that hasn't been going on [with] some of the interactions between the current Constable and the Sheriff's department, and things like that, have really strained those relationships, and I think that a fresh start would do Precinct 2 well.
