How Can Lubbock Be Healthier? Sexual Health, Addiction, Etc. To Be Discussed
How can Lubbock be a healthier city? It's an issue the Lubbock Health Department wants to tackle as part of a broader plan to create a Community Health and Assessment Plan. The Lubbock Health Department announced on Wednesday a series of events where citizens and health professionals can exchange ideas.
These meetings will be free and open to the public according to a press release from the City of Lubbock. The results of the meeting will provide a picture of the region's overall health and a wide range of health issues will be discussed.
A wide range of issues will be explored, including access to care, insurance and affordability, sexual health, mental health, addiction, and other facets of overall health that are important to families and individuals, and that may be specific to Lubbock County and the surrounding area.
The first event will be held at the YWCA on April 18th from 12-2pm. The YWCA is located at 6204 Elgin Ave. The second event will be held that evening from 5-7pm at the East Lubbock Art House at 405 MLK BLVD.
Each event will feature panelists and those attending will be able to meet with experts and find out how other cities are handling health related issues.
Those attending are encouraged to fill out a survey before attending.
