Attention West Texas, the temperatures in the next few days are ones for the books, for better or for worse depending on how you look at it. But hey! It isn't West Texas weather if it doesn't keep you on your toes every once in a while.

Record Forecast for West Texas

Wednesday's forecast actually was set to exceed the hottest in history! KLBK predicted the high to be 84 degrees. This is just a few degrees higher than the record set way back in 1937 which was 81!

Not only this, but the highs for the next couple of days are not quite record temps, but they sure are close.

KLBK's 7-Day Forecast for Lubbock

Thursday we can see a high of 80, juuuust scratching the record temp of 81 degrees recently seen back in 2015. Then, Friday's high is also just one degree away from the record high of 84, also set in 2015.

The weekend in the South Plains and Rolling Plains is forecasted to be hit with some dry weather, but this won't last long as isolated showers are set to impact much of West Texas come Monday and Tuesday of next week.

Wednesday also saw a Dense Fog Advisory for Lubbock and surrounding counties where visibility dropped to a quarter mile or less during its peak. I hope everyone made it to their destinations safely!
