Monday on The Chad Hasty Show, Lubbock District 3 City Councilman Jeff Griffith joined Hasty in the KFYO studio to talk about many issues currently facing the city of Lubbock.

Griffith and Hasty discussed the move of Lubbock power to ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas), the future of the Lubbock Municipal Auditorium and Colosseum, progress on Citizen's Tower, and the need for an event center in Lubbock that has the ability to host "dirt" events.

About the issue of LP&L joining ERCOT, and the high costs involved, Griffith said,

The ability to save money is greater by still paying those dollars, we believe, and letting retail competition come into this city. It basically would make Lubbock Power and Light, eventually, a wire company.
