Jason Corley: It’s Not Just Washington & Austin, Lubbock Has a Swamp, Too [INTERVIEW]
Wednesday on The Chad Hasty Show Lubbock County Commissioner Precinct 2 candidate Jason Corley joined the show to talk about his run for the office.
Corley and Hasty discussed current policies in Lubbock County, where the problems lie, and what he believes needs to be done in the future, including limits on property tax increases, the Lubbock Sheriff department, and much more.
Answering Hasty's question as to why he decided to run for County Commissioner, Corley replied,
One of the main reasons I decided to run was, I'm a taxpayer also. Just watching the property tax creep, that's kind of bothered me. Also, the pay raises really kind of motivated me. I mean, we point our fingers at Washington, we point our fingers at Austin and say, well look what they're doing up there. Well, we need to be pointing at downtown Lubbock as well. We've got our own problems over here at the courthouse. We've got our own little swamp going that needs to be drained.
Early voting for the election starts February 20th. Primary voting starts March 6th.
