Photographer Eric Draper joined The Chad Hasty Show on Monday to share some details about his upcoming appearance in Lubbock, “Inside the Oval Office, An Intimate Evening with President George W. Bush's White House Photographer" and to share a little about his eight years with President Bush and his family.

The event is a fundraiser hosted by the West Texas Photographers, and will take place on Monday, June 24, 2019, at Texas Tech's Merket Alumni Center from 6:00-9:00 P.M.

The public is invited to attend a unique evening to get Draper's insider views of the first family, hear his perspectives from behind the scenes during the events shared by the nation, and see photographs most have not seen before.

This event not just for photographers, but for Americans who simply love their country, and would like to see and hear some of the personal, human perspectives from inside the White House.

While describing his own experiences and emotions as the terror attacks on the nation unfolded on September 11, 2001, Draper said,

I was in shock the entire day, but I had a job to do. I had something to focus on, I had a camera, and that really helped me get through that day, to follow the president...He was very courageous, he was a true leader during that entire time.

Individual and pairs of tickets, as well as tables for eight are available for the event. The evening will include coffee, a fantastic dessert selection, and a cash bar. The eveing will also include a silent auction of three of Mr. Draper's framed photographs, one signed by the President himself (a rarity), as well as many gift cards and packages donated by some of our great local businesses.

The event will benefit the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep charity, as well as to help fund scholarships for upcoming photographers to attend the annual Texas School of Professional Photography in Addison, Texas.
