Lubbock police are investigating a reported shooting that occurred Wednesday (Sept. 11) morning in the 1700 block of East 1st Street.

According to the Lubbock Police Department, officers responded to the area just after the shooting was called in at 12:15 a.m.

The LPD now says that the suspect, who they've yet to identify, fired at a home in the 1700 block of East 1st Street.

Police say a 1-year-old was injured in the shooting, and family members took the infant to University Medical Center for treatment.

KAMC News reports that the infant was shot in the arm. However, police say the baby's injury is non-life threatening.
