Friday on Lubbock's First News, Lance Mondragon of Good Karma Cigar gave a run down of the meet and greet event that will be hosted tonight, as well as some insight into the history of the La Palina cigar company.

The Good Karma Cigar shop has a smoking area open to the public, as well as a private membership lounge. They also offer classes for pipe and cigar smokers, along with premium tobacco and pipes. The event will take place at Good Karma Cigar, at 3411 S. Loop 289 (next to Texas Land and Cattle), 5:00-9:00 p.m. this evening.

The event will feature Courtney Smith of the La Palina cigar company, creator of the "Goldie" cigar. This particular cigar was created to celebrate women working in the industry. All cigars in the Goldie collection are rolled by one woman, master cigar roller Maria Sierra. Mondragon described the La Palina Goldie: "An Ecuadorian puro, it tastes like lemonade and peppercorn. "
