Texas Tech has announced Paul R. Goebel will serve as the interim Dean of the Rawls College of Business Administration.

Effective after the first of the year, Goebel, associate dean of undergraduate programs and the James E. and Elizabeth F. Sowell Professor of Finance, will take on Dean responsibilities.

Only on an interim basis, Goebel will supplant Lance Nail until a permanent hire is made.

The search committee for the permanent Dean will be assembled in the month of December, with the nationwide search set to begin in January.

A former chairman of both the Lubbock Planning and Zoning Commission and the Board of Directors for the Texas Tech Federal Credit Union, Goebel is also experienced in the ways of student recruitment, retention and advising through his time as an associate dean for undergraduate programs.
