A candidate for Texas Land Commissioner will visit Lubbock this weekend.

George P. Bush, son of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and nephew of former U.S. President George W. Bush, will speak at a luncheon hosted by a segment of the Republican Party of Texas on Saturday.

The luncheon is hosted by the Candidate Resource Committee of the Republican Party of Texas, and will take place from 11:30 until 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Country Club at 4011 North Boston.

Other speakers at the event will be Republican National Committeeman Dr. Robin Armstrong, Texas Attorney General candidates Dan Branch and Barry Smitherman, State Senator Ken Paxton, Railroad Commissioner candidate Becky Berger, Texas Agriculture Commissioner candidate Eric Opiela, and Texas Supreme Court Justice Phil Johnson.

Bush faces candidate David Wattselection for the office of Texas Land Commissioner, who was in Lubbock in early July.

Tickets for the luncheon are $50 per person or $80 per couple. Sponsorships are available as well.

Funds raised at the event will go toward Republican candidates in contested races at the local level across the state.
