Frenship Independent School District has named their interim superintendent as the sole candidate as the district’s next superintendent.

Dr. Michelle McCord stepped up from her position as assistant superintendent of schools in May, where she had served since 2010. McCord will fully assume the title of superintendent after a 21-day, state-mandated waiting period.

McCord received a B.A. and Master’s from Midwestern State University and a Doctorate of Education from Lamar University. During her career, she has taught Spanish and served as a counselor and administrator.

Frenship School Board President Brad Draper said in a statement, “The board is certain that Dr. McCord will continue Frenship ISD’s long-standing tradition of excellence.”
