It's summer vacation for kiddos all across the South Plains but some kids rely on school breakfast and lunch to keep them fed through the day. This means that some times summer vacation can actually become a dread for working parents or low income families who have to worry about keeping their children fed. One Lubbock school district is starting off the summer vacation time with two opportunities for a free lunch in the form of hamburgers.

Frenship ISD announced that they would be holding their Burger Bash to kickoff the Tiger Bites Summer Feeding program to help children and families in need, no questions asked. Frenship ISD has currently invited all children in need of food to this event which will be held at two different locations on Monday, June 5th.

That first location will be the Frenship ISD Soccer Complex and will begin at 11 a.m. lasting until noon. The second location will be Duran Park from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and children will have to eat their food at both locations. After the kids eat there will be games and plenty of activities to keep them entertained and to get moving.

Summer is not the only time Frenship ISD helps feed children as they have a winter program and also help during Thanksgiving or the occasional weekend food bags. All children that are brought to the Burger Bash do not have to be enrolled at Frenship ISD to get a free burger.
