Four Animal Deaths Reported in South Lubbock House Fire

Four animals died and two people suffered smoke inhalation as a result of a house fire Wednesday morning in South Lubbock.
Lubbock Fire Rescue crews responded to the fire at around 7 a.m. in the 1400 block of 77th Street.
One adult male and one adult female were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and four out of five pets in the home died.
Officials say utilities were cut off to the home because no one was supposed to be living there.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
